Family member is not well, but that was to be expected. All other folks were fine, and lovely to see. Concert was even better than expected - went with my balloon friends, and had a great supper after.

Flights were godawful, as usual. Missed connection, got stuck in DTW. Found out they have a spa (!) and got myself a massage. Nice!

I am the Queen of Making the Best of Things. Probably why I became a librarian...

I don't see in the article any suggestion of how many bone shards were discovered - evidence of death, or evidence of loss of limbs? There's a difference.

It also doesn't state that there is evidence of when the heirs died. It seems that it is being assumed that since the shards were found in the same forest where their parents' remains were found, they were killed at the same time. Is this assumption valid?

If I don't normally wear a tinfoil hat, and can come up with these two objections, I'm sure those who have a stronger desire can come up with even more. The myth will live on.

Actually, what I am worried is that the people will end up re-electing the bozos, thus proving that maybe the nation is exactly that way. Let's be honest, people are not exactly smart if they re-elected them last time.

Sometimes genealogy resources are centralized at a state historical library or similar, rather than kept at libraries. It's a lot of work to maintain a local history collection, and usually takes additional funding and staff. I'll have to ask my friend if they have such a collection - if they do, yes, they need to add it to their calculator, since genealogy researchers use a lot of time - and staff time, often - to do their research. I'll ask her!

The calculator is a great idea, but it's strange, either Santa Fe and Chelmsford (upon which Santa Fe's calculator was based) don't have any microfilm in their library, or microfilm research is categorized under a different heading that I'm missing.

I am at my local library every weekend now doing genealogy research, mostly in microfilm, and with both calculators, I end up with a lot less value than I should because I have nowhere to categorize my primary activity. Maybe I should classify it under computer use, but a microfilm machine isn't a computer.

    Hey Louise,

I hate Valentine's Day, too, not just for its Hallmark-iness, but because it's more likely to make single people feel miserable than partnered people feel good.

I'm all for celebrating love, but not so much in this compulsory everyone on the same day kind of way.

Great idea on posting the condom link.
Thanks for the mention of our GreenDimes service which plants 10 trees for each membership. Actually, we also eliminate 90% of your other junk mail in addition to the catalogs. It frees up a lot of time for me on the weekends, not having to sort through all the extraneous mail.
